You can travel to Överkalix from the north, the south, the east and the west. By air, car or bus.
By Air
The largest airports with internationally connecting flights are Luleå Airport and Kiruna Airport, serviced by both Scandinavian Airlines and Norwegian. There are also smaller airports scattered across northern Scandinavia, which you could use. A few such airports are the ones in Gällivare and Arvidsjaur in the north of Sweden, Tromsø in Norway and Oulu and Rovaniemi in Finland.
By Car
Överkalix is situated about 10 Swedish miles northeast of Luleå or 24 Swedish miles south of Kiruna, in Norrbotten, Sweden. You can get here by car on the E10 and highway 98.
By Bus
You can travel by bus to Överkalix by using the regional bus service, Länstrafiken Norrbotten.

According to an old legend the devil needed an interpreter in Överkalix because of the very difficult dialect. But don’t worry, you won’t need one!
